The market for selling wine can be highly competitive. There are already thousands of wines for consumers to choose from, who will generally pick up a bottle purely based on its appearance. This makes it important to stand out from competitors. Designing a label that is creative and eye-catching will hopefully draw the consumer’s attention towards it which gives the producer increased chance of making a sale.
Because of regulations wine must be packaged in a certain sized bottle which is why the labels on them are also a specific size and shape. Some of the best designs can come from working around those constraints. Inspiration can come from looking at the name of the wine and designing a theme around that. Using humour is often a great selling point, along with bright colors and unusual typography.
Here, we take a look at some of the most creative wine labels. The designers of them have used many different techniques to create an eye-catching bottle.
