Photographers from all around the world use different photography styles to shoot stunning, creative and beautiful photos and images. Of many styles of photography prevalent, these days, Bokeh has become one of the most popular styles of photography. Bokeh technique of photography makes the background look blur so as to focus the subject and make it look extraordinary sharp, beautiful, and attractive. The background is out of focus, and the subject becomes the whole centre of attraction.
Actually, The Bokeh comes from the Japanese word “boke” which means fuzzy, blur, haze, or the blur quality. Bokeh photography is simply splendid, and one can easily use different adjectives to describe it such as superb, beautiful, excellent, silky, incredible, and smooth. Bokeh photography produces aesthetic quality of blur when it makes the background totally out of focus. You have to play with the focus and your camera lenses to create Bokeh photography.
So how you would take Bokeh photography?
Well, it is really not that difficult as it sounds. You just need a good camera, and adjust the lenses to take splendid Bokeh images. So when taking a picture of a subject, you have to use a fast lens, a widest aperture and that’s it, you can have a Bokeh image with you, that’s absolutely wonderful. You require setting your camera to a wide aperture, and it would really help if you have a distant source of light in the background.
If you want to take some Bokeh shots, you require setting your camera to Aperture mode. In most of the high-end cameras, it is displayed on the control dial with the letter “A”. After doing this, you then search for the f-number which you will get on the camera screen. Typically the f-number is displayed as a number which ranges from f/1 to f/22.
In point and shoot cameras, you get this number range from f/2 to f/4. What to require doing is to set the aperture to the smallest f number. It would sound contradicting, but the fact is that the smallest f-number is the largest aperture. So set your camera to the smallest f-number to get the largest aperture.
Once you have done this, you are ready to shoot Bokeh pictures with your camera. Another thing in Bokeh photography is that the subject has to be close to you and preferably there should be nothing in the background so as to focus the subject clearly and have the background as blur as possible.
Although, this is only an introduction about Bokeh Photography, still it is more than sufficient to take splendid and stunning Bokeh images. Bokeh photography will certainly excite and amaze you.
