Today blogging is become the best way of sharing our knowledge or sharing about our self. Anyone can start there blog for free with the help of many free services like blogger.com etc.
There is no doubt that WordPress is the best blogging script, today millions of blog are running on WordPress and the great thing is it’s free. To setup your WordPress blog you need few things like your domain name, web hosting space, FTP software and notepad application that’s it.
Most of the hosting plans fulfill WordPress installation requirements like PHP 4.3 or greater, database MySQL 4.1.2 or greater and mod_rewrite Apache module. Linux hosting is affordable then Windows and covers all the above requirements.
Before starting WordPress setup you have your domain name, hosting account and now you have to download WordPress from WordPress.org, download it and unzip the download files.
Create Database and User
You have to login your hosting account and create a database and MySql user for that database. Every hosting company have different admin panel so it is difficult for me to tell how to create database from your hosting account. Please search for help available on your hosting provider website for creating database and its user account.
Now you have unzip the download files you will find “wp-config-sample.php” file rename it to “wp-config.php”. Open this file in notepad and change the “Database Name”, “User Name” and “Database password” same as you have used while creating database and user from your hosting control panel. See the image for example.
Now upload all WordPress file to your web server. If you want to make your WordPress installation as your default home page (e.g. http://example.com/) then upload these files into root folder like “/httpdocs”. You can use free FTP client like Filezilla to upload files to web server.
You have uploaded all files now here comes the popular WordPress 5 minute installation. Now open your web browser and type the URL where you have uploaded WordPress file. If you have uploaded WordPress on root directory then open “http://www.yourdomain.com” and if you have uploaded in subdirectory then “http://www.yourdomain.com/blog”. The WordPress setup screen will open if not then open “http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/install.php”
Fill the details like your “Blog Title” WordPress admin user name, password and your email. Just submit this form and you are done. You can start blogging by login to admin panel http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php
